Henry really does love to ride a bike. He's quickly learning about backward pedal brakes and how much easier this bike will tip over (two spills into the grass are good for a reality check).

Pedal Power!

Recycling tricycling
Looks like it will not sit abandoned for long.
Grant had to suffer a bloody nose for this ride, but it was worth it! Yikes! Trikes!

a month in pics
Whew!
Where did the month of May go?
I wish I knew.
Summer has crept up on us (our spring was fleeting, we jumped nearly from winter to summer here! But we've managed to miss most major storms, so I'm not going to complain).
And if pictures are worth a thousand words, this is what we've been up to in the last several weeks, despite continuing to put in as many hours as possible for orientation to my new job, and George's last few weeks of residency.

Our first picnic (maybe our last, if the mosquitoes are as bad as last year!)
Relishing ice cream once again
A quick visit from Uncle Nicholas...
led us to an impromptu visit to the zoo for a gorgeous afternoon
discovering the joy of bubbles
Memorial Day parade: highlights...old cars, fire trucks, clowns, horses, mascots, marching bands, and CANDY!
The "first day" of summer...our Memorial Day was HOT
So we had to keep cool
a bucket of water in the backyard to splash around in
So we've had a little time here and there to stop and smell the flowers...
